Prepare to be enchanted by the grandeur of the Belozersk Kremlin — a unique monument of defensive architecture from the 15th century, built during the reign of Ivan III. Its majestic ramparts will take your breath away and open up captivating views of the vast expanses of the lake and charming streets lined with houses, each a true gem. Here, the harmony of architecture and nature creates an atmosphere of comfort and historical significance.

Additionally, an interactive tour at the “Lake Beloye” museum will reveal the unique features of this amazing region, with its distinct aquatic environment.

After a busy day, enjoy a late lunch, and then we will return to Vologda, filled with impressions and new knowledge. Don’t miss the chance to touch the living history and beauty of Belozersk!

Day 2: Kirillov and Ferapontovo — Inspiration from Antiquity and Beauty

Today, you are in for an exciting journey to the heart of the Russian North — to Kirillov and the village of Ferapontovo (130 km)!

The Ferapontov Monastery is not just a place; it is a true temple of history and culture. Founded in 1398 by Saint Ferapont, it served as a cultural and religious center of the Belozersk region for four centuries. The monastery's main church — the Cathedral of the Nativity of the Virgin — is renowned for its unique frescoes created by the outstanding icon painter Dionysius, a true master of his time. His works, preserved to this day, represent the last "swan song" of the artist's talent, remaining in their original form. Each detail of the frescoes is imbued with the spirit of the era, and seeing them will undoubtedly allow you to feel the breath of centuries.

Next, we will transfer to Kirillov (19 km), where nostalgia for times gone by awaits. Lunch at the "Rus" restaurant will offer you the opportunity to savor traditional Russian dishes, bursting with vibrant flavors and unique recipes.

The next stop on our itinerary will be a visit to the Kirillo-Belozersky Historical, Architectural, and Art Museum. Founded in 1397 by Saint Kirill of Belozero, this monastery became one of the most significant spiritual centers in Russia during the 15th and 16th centuries. Here, you will immerse yourself in the world of ancient Russian painting and unique decorative applied arts. The monastery houses the rarest manuscripts and unique exhibits that narrate the rich cultural heritage of the region.

After a day filled with inspiration and history, we will return to Vologda, full of impressions and a desire to discover new horizons. Don’t miss the chance to touch upon antiquity and feel the magic of this amazing land!
